MORADABAD: An agreement has been signed between the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and GA Infra Private Limited-Lahoti Buildcon Limited, for development of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in Moradabad. The contract for the tripartite concession agreement was awarded at a cost of Rs 99.68 crore. The lending for this project has already been offered by the State Bank of India Capital.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, the project’s goal is to eliminate the flow of untreated sewage from the city of Moradabad into River Ganga. The project therefore has been designed to reduce pollution load in the river. The project has already received approval from the NMCG for construction of the 25 Million litre per day STP, which will develop interception and diversion structures and sewage pumping stations.
