NEW DELHI: In a welcome relief for Delhi residents from the intense heat, the national capital experienced light showers amidst the ongoing heatwave.
The rainfall brought down the temperature after it had soared to 52.3 degrees Celsius, marking the highest-ever temperature recorded in the country.
Delhi-NCR and other parts of North India are expected to see relief from the heatwave conditions starting from June 1, 2024. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that a decrease in temperature can be anticipated as winds from the Arabian Sea are likely to bring respite, leading to a significant reduction in the prevailing heatwave.
