NEW DELHI: The Government of NCT of Delhi said on Tuesday, February 16, on the occasion of completing its first year of third term, that it will clean the Yamuna river in three years. Satyendar Jain, Minister of Health and Urban Development, Government of NCT of Delhi, said that after fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, the Delhi government will focus on cleaning the river within three years.
Jain also said that the Delhi government has provided 24×7 electricity to the people and will now provide continuous water supply as well. He added that around 1.3 million people got zero water bills last year and almost 73 per cent of the people got zero electricity bill during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the Delhi government will aid in minimising the vehicular emission through its electric vehicle policy, he added.
