NEW DELHI: The Government of NCT of Delhi is set to release an English version of their updated Happiness Curriculum handbook. Published by the State Council for Educational Research and Training, Delhi, these handbooks will be distributed in schools from April 1. The move was initiated as there’s an increasing demand for implementation of Happiness Curriculum in private schools.
Moreover, the International Day of Happiness was celebrated in schools on March 20. ‘Happiness’ activities will be celebrated this entire week. Each day of the week would be dedicated to one activity, for instance, ‘Mindfulness Monday’ or ‘Expressive Saturday’. Many students have attested to the efficacy of ‘Mindfulness Activities’ in reducing pandemic-induced stress when they practiced it while the schools were shut. In a meeting held on Sunday, attended by policymakers, teachers and other stakeholders, it was also decided that a survey would soon be conducted to see how the kids are managing to deal with the mental distress caused by the pandemic.
