NEW DELHI: As India ventures into the fifth phase of the lockdown, the Center has announced that inter-state movement can restart across the country, but the final call on this would be with the state governments. Given the comparatively higher count of the Covid cases in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi Government, has announced that the national capital would be sealing its borders for a week further, till June 7. Movement of only essential services and goods is permitted.  The CM has also raised the concerns for medical facilities which is adequate for the state as per Delhi’s opulation but could not be enough if the patients from neighbouring states also start coming to the city.

The CM has also sought suggestions from the people of Delhi about the reopening of the borders. People of Delhi can drop their suggestions about reopening the borders with Uttar Pradesh and Haryana by dropping WhatsApp text on 8800007722, mail on delhicm.suggestions@gmail.com or call on 1031 by 5 PM on Friday.

Authorities of Gautam Buddh Nagar district of UP, which is on the Noida-Delhi border, has detected that 42 per cent of the total cases in the district from the past 20 days can be traced to Delhi. Else, the CM announced, the Delhi Government will be implementing all of the relaxations that the Central Government has suggested.
