NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government has begun the week-long trial of its new Mohalla Bus Services on two new routes. The new bus service has been introduced to make public transport accessible and efficient for the residents while at the same time reducing travel time.
These trial runs are being conducted to evaluate the performance of these buses in the national capital, along with gathering public feedback regarding the new bus service.
The two new routes on which these buses have been introduced include Kailash Colony metro station to PNG Geetanjali, on which the buses will be operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), and Lok Kalyan Marg metro station to Vasant Vihar, on which the bus services will be operated by the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS). The two routes cover around six colleges of Delhi University and metro stations.
The Mohalla Bus Service’s trial began last month when the buses were introduced on two routes: Pradhan Enclave Pushta to Majlis Park Metro Station and from the Akshardham metro station to Mayur Vihar phase III paper market.
