NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi signed a memorandum of understanding(MoU) on the “Friendship and Cooperation Agreement” with Seoul mayor Park Won-Soon in Seoul on September,14. Under it, both cities will work for the improvement in 12 fields including environment, transport, tourism, solid waste management, and public health.
Kejriwal said that MoU should not be seen as another piece of official documents. “Let us try to make it a living document because it is signed for the mutual corporation in many fields”, He added.
CM appealed cooperation of Seoul to tackle air pollution and transport needs in Delhi. He added that he would want both the governments to work closely since Delhi needs to learn a lot about an efficient public transport system from Seoul.
Kejriwal said that “Delhi’s Urban Development Department will be more than eager to take help from you in whichever manner possible to develop Delhi in a similar way.” The MoU says that the Delhi Government will seek support from its Urban Development Department and other departments for carrying out all the relevant aspects of this agreement.
