WASHINGTON DC: According to a revised guideline issued by United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US-CDC), novel coronavirus can remain lingering in the air for hours and can hence infect people even at a distance of 6 feet in an enclosed space. Over the concern shown by public health experts about the airborne transmission of the virus, the US-CDC did research and said that there is evidence that people infected with COVID-19 can spread the virus in enclosed spaces with less or no ventilation and infect the people at a 6-feet distance as well.

CDC elaborated, “Under such circumstances, scientists believed that the amount of infectious, smaller droplets, or aerosols, produced by people with COVID-19 become concentrated enough to spread the virus.” Aerosol droplets are known to be very small, and can remain suspended in the air, like smoke. Researchers added, “The reality is the airborne transmission is the main way that transmission happens at close range with prolonged contact.”
