BHUBANESHWAR: Colleges and Universities across Odisha reopened their classrooms for students of final year undergraduate and postgraduate courses from January 11,2021. The physical classes in the colleges will be conducted after the classroom classes remained suspended for nine months’ period due to the pandemic and the lockdowns.
According to the officials, classes will be conducted amid strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, and the seats in the classroom have been arranged to ensure the following of all social distancing norms. Government has also allowed the resumption of physical classes and research activities for PhD and M.Phil. students.
Schools across the state of Odisha had already reopened their classrooms on January 8 for students appearing for their board examination this year, while physical classes at medical colleges were resumed from December 1, last year. The state’s guideline establishes that whenever possible, the physical classroom teaching shall be recorded and shared with absentee students, and if needed, crowded classes can be divided into batches by extending the teaching hours of a day.
According to officials, the government has been reopening educational institutes considering the improvement in COVID-19 situation in the state and the huge academic loss experienced of students due to the pandemic.
