CM Patnaik approves development projects worth ₹183.81 cr

BHUBANESWAR, Odisha: Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has approved projects worth ₹183.81 crore under the state government’s flagship scheme MUKTA. The projects have been sanctioned as part of the second phase, and it will pave the way for the development of 42 urban local bodies spread across ten districts of the Southern RDC Division.

The list of beneficiary districts includes Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Kandhamal and Boudh. The beneficiary local bodies have formulated their respective ward-wise Annual Action Plans through a participatory approach involving local citizens and other key stakeholders. It has also been ensured that these projects are demand-driven, technically feasible and environment friendly. Also, the action plans have been screened at the department level before they were presented to the state CM for approval. Since all the projects have been sanctioned as part of the MUKTA scheme, the projects will be implemented by Mission Shakti Groups.

In line with the directives of the chief minister, the implementation of the projects was discussed with representatives of the concerned local bodies by the VK Pradhan 5T Secretary on June 9.

The list of projects includes the creation of civic amenities, development of water bodies and open spaces, construction of multipurpose community centres, wall paintings, city beautification and other labour-intensive works.
