BERHAMPUR: Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha launched various infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1,100 crores in Ganjam district on January 27.
Foundation stones for 231 projects were laid and 48 of them which were worth Rs 715 crore were inaugurated during the Chief Minister’s visit to the district.
According to a senior official, the infrastructure projects include roads, buildings, tourism and water supply. A 10-bedded geriatric ward costing Rs 40 crore, district vaccine store worth Rs 79 crore, bleaching store costing Rs 29.64 crore and construction of OPD for eye department at the district
Binod Kumar Padhy, Superintending Engineer, PWD Berhampur Circle said that CM also inaugurated some major projects-A railway over bridges (ROB) at Jagannathpur and Ambapua worth Rs 30 crore and Rs 35 crore respectively, 9 major roads in Berhampur, Hinjili, Gopalpur, Chikiti and Digapahandi were upgraded with the estimated cost of Rs 113.51 crore.
Patnaik also laid foundation stones for development of infrastructure of 11 tourism projects in the district. The estimated cost for tourism projects was Rs 4.78 crore, said, Sanatan Nayak, District Tourist Officer. Additionally, Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for double laning of a 15-km road from Karapalli to Loudigaon approximately at a cost of Rs 49 crore.
