CM inaugurates new GSRTC bus port in Rajkot

RAJKOT: Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat inaugurates a new bus port of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) on Dhebar Road, Rajkot on January 25, 2020. During the inauguration, Rupani further stated that the government will build two new satellite bus stations in Rajkot, one on Bhanvnagar Road and other at the junction where the Ring Road meets Jamnagar Road, in order to cater to the growing passenger traffic in the city.

Rajkot becomes the sixth GSRTC bus station to be redeveloped on PPP mode after the first modern bus port was inaugurated on PPP mode in Vadodara. Rupani further said that the state government is set on modernising its fleet of 8500 GSRTC buses. The state government is doing this by phasing out 1000 buses every year and replacing them with modern, smart buses.

The bus port has a two-level underground parking, 20 platforms for passengers to board and de-board buses, administrative office, food stalls, restaurant, cinema hall, dormitory for passengers, rest rooms for bus drivers, general waiting room and a ladies waiting room.
