CHANDIGARH, Haryana: Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar announced that the state government would soon launch its own “Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana”. CM said that the scheme would benefit over one lakh families.
CM Khattar said, “Under Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana, a survey shall be conducted to provide plots or flats to the poor and needy families of the state who do not have their own houses.”
CM added that by August 31, the third instalment of ₹50,000 under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban) would be disbursed to the families yet to receive the amount. The move will benefit about 15,000 families in Haryana.
Chief Minister was attending the “Vishesh Charcha” programme from Radaur town of Yamunanagar district, where he interacted with beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana. Dr Kamal Gupta, Minister for Urban Local Bodies, Government of Haryana, also attended the programme virtually.
He further informed that an amount of ₹898 crore has been sanctioned to construct houses for underprivileged sections of the society in both urban and rural areas of the state. The scheme also mandates basic civic amenities to the people, such as tap water, toilet and power connection to the houses.
PMAY also has a provision for financial assistance of ₹2.50 lakh in urban areas, which is disbursed in three instalments.
