MANDI AHMEDGARH: Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab approved Rs 57 crore for carrying out development works in Ahmedgarh. The grants will be utilised to repair and construct roads and streets, install water treatment plant and strengthen sewage disposal system at Ahmedgarh and Amargarh localities.
Surjit Singh Dhiman, MLA, Amargarh claimed that the funds would be utilised according to the laid down norms of the government for providing optimum civic amenities to all residents of his constituency.
Teji Kamalpur, political secretary to Dhiman said that an amount of Rs 5 crore was earmarked for undertaking development projects at various wards of Ahmedgarh. Rs 8 crore would be spent on the installation of a water treatment plant for solving the problem of overflowing sewerage.
He further said that the roads connecting Ahmedgarh and Amargarh with surrounding localities will be repaired and reconstructed with the estimated cost of Rs 32 crore. Funds worth Rs 12 crore were sanctioned for laying sewerage at Amargarh, he added.
