SHIMLA: Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh announced the opening of PWD sub-division besides the construction of a mini secretariat at Jhandutta, while addressing a public awareness function at Jhandutta in Bilaspur district on December 3, 2018.
The state government announced a new scheme, Atal Adarsh Aawasiya Shiksha Yojana, for the state from Berthin (a village in Himachal Pradesh) for meritorious students, so that they can compete with the students studying in convent schools. He said that a provision of Rs 25 crore has been made.
He further said that 10 Adarsh schools would be opened under this scheme, which would have residential and special facilities for the students studying there. He said to ensure that the pace of development gets a boost, he had visited 58 Assembly constituencies. The government was trying to give preference to the areas which had remained neglected so far.
Thakur said that the state government had already succeeded in getting development projects worth Rs 6,300 crore sanctioned from the Union Government while Central projects worth crores of rupees were in the pipeline.
He announced the opening of health sub centre at Gugga-Geharwin and expansion of the PWD rest house at Jhandutta. He said that efforts would be made to develop an industrial area at Geharwin. He also announced Rs 2 lakh each for 10 Mahila Mandals of the area.
The CM laid the foundation stone of 33KV sub-station at Berthin worth Rs 5.96 crore.
