NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, November 28, managed to procure eight out of 14 municipal bodies in Tripura and is still leading in the rest six of them according to the counting reports till 12 pm.
BJP in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) bagged 58,221 votes while the Communist Party of India finished third with 15,960 votes. BJP won a total of 46 wards in AMC as per the latest update. Dilip Ghosh, National Vice President, BJP told the reporters on Sunday that the party had a strong bond with the people of Tripura. Ghosh further stated that results have exposed the “hollowness” of opposition TMC’s claims about making inroads into the state, according to PTI reported.
