ABIDJAN: Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India attended the Conference of Parties, 15th session of the United Nation’s Conference to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP15) in Cote d’Ivoire from May 9 to 20, 2022.
Yadav stated that as the president of COP14, India managed to bring together nations towards halting land degradation. The conference brought together stakeholders from across the field like governments, private sector and civil society. During the conference, there will be high-level meeting of Heads of States summit, high level roundtables, interactive dialogue sessions and many other sessions and events. The agenda for the summit includes drought, land restoration, land rights, gender equality and youth empowerment.
India had hosted COP 14 in New Delhi from 2nd to 13th September, 2022.
