BHOPAL: To carry out Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has established a high-powered committee at the state level, which is headed by the Chief Secretary.
Principal Secretaries from the Departments of Urban Development and Housing, Public Health, Engineering, Finance, and Environment will serve on the committee, along with the Chairman of the State Pollution Control Board (PCB), a representative from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India and the Mission Director for SBM-Rural at the state level. According to representatives of the state government, the Director, State Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) would be the Member Secretary. The committee will approve the state’s complete annual action plan in order to accomplish mission objectives. The committee will periodically make plans, assess goals and devise implementation strategies. It would take steps to manage waste and maintain cleanliness in both urban and rural regions. To accomplish the goal, it will work towards building inter – departmental coordination. Planning for the short, medium, and long-term capital inflows as well as planning for the mobilisation of additional resources will be done. Funds released into the scheme will be periodically monitored, and audit reports will be reviewed.
