BENGALURU: Baadal Nanjundaswamy, a Bengaluru based artist, drew paintings on the walls of the city to spread awareness about COVID-19 and preventive measures against it. Through the murals, he depicted the importance of wearing masks, practicing social distancing and using hand sanitizers. He said that he saw people not following the rules and regulations for the prevention of COVID-19 and hence, he used visual representation to convey the message.
Nanjundaswamy said, “I made the paintings to spread awareness about COVID-19 and I have got a good response. This was my contribution to the society. It was difficult to come out and paint with so many restrictions.” The artist continues to paint at police stations, markets and other public places on empty walls, shutters, pillars and roads, to educate people. A large of number of people have appreciated the art.
