CHANDIGARH: The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) installed two solar power plants at its sub-stations in Jalandhar and Jamalpur that would supplement the power grid in their region.
DK Sharma, Chairman, BBMB, inaugurated these plants and highlighted the benefits of harnessing the renewable energy.
The two plants in Jalandhar and Jamalpur has a total capacity of 100 kWp and 60kWp respectively. The minimum annual generation of 2.56 lakh units is expected from these two power plants. BBMB installed grid connected rooftop photo voltaic plants last year having an aggregate installed capacity of 175kWp on its office building located in Chandigarh.
Installation work of 80 kWp solar rooftop plant on the control room building of BBMB substation in Delhi and a 20 kWp solar roof top plant on BBMB building at Narela is under progress and is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
