NEW DELHI: The Cabinet approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), the Government of India, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Government of Australia, which will pave the way for the technical cooperation between two countries in urban water management.
This MoU will strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in urban water security. It will help in enhancing the institutional capacity regarding urban water management, improving accessibility, affordability and quality of water and sanitation services. Also, it will promote the circular economy in water, climate-resilient water management practices, securing community participation and social inclusion through accessible infrastructure initiatives.
This MoU will allow both the countries to learn from each other’s experiences to adopt best practices and capacity building of institutions.
