DISPUR, Assam: Bimal Bora, Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Assam, released a statement on May 31, that the state government will be sanctioning approximately Rs 1000 for the development of sports infrastructure in Assam.
Bora stated that a total of 10 district level sports facilities will be constructed. In each district, there will be a sports complex that would cost around Rs 50 crores to the state government. He also declared that each legislative assembly constituency is going to have a multipurpose stadium, and each of these stadiums will cost up to Rs 12 crores. All of these projects are said to be completed in the next two years as the construction has already begun on many of the projects.
