DISPUR, ASSAM: With the onset of monsoon season looming over, Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sharma, held an in-depth meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of the state to gear up to tackle possible floods in the state.
An official statement said, “Chief Minister has directed all officials to be present on the ground and keep a tight vigil on the situation.”
Sharma has directed officials to keep the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on alert. “CM has issued instructions to keep NDRF and SDRF on alert. Visit embankment breach areas and monitor them. Maintaining roads in flood and landslide-prone areas, availability of doctors and medicines, keeping ample buffer and fodder stock and allot dedicated phone numbers,” the official statement read.
