NEW DELHI: Travellers of Aqua Line connecting Noida and Greater Noida will be able to use their smart cards to pay the fare for city buses, parking fees and even use it as a debit card in the shopping malls. Operation on this route of the Metro is scheduled to begin in November.

Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) will have QR code tickets for a single journey. Plus, there will be an option to enter and exit using a mobile app. However, the operation of the Metro on the Aqua line will start at Noida’s Sector 71 station and it will be completed at Depot Station in Greater Noida. The route will have 21 stations and cover 29.7 km.

NMRC Executive Director PD Upadhyay said that NMRC has partnered with the State Bank of India (SBI). The metro card can also be used to pay the parking fee and even as a debit card.

He said that another important feature of this line will be that it will have a free mobile application to enter and exit. He said the card will work in Kochi and Nagpur metro and other upcoming Metro services, but it cannot be used in Delhi Metro. Upadhyay said that the construction work of Aqua Line was started in May 2015 and it was completed in recorded time.
