VISAKHAPATNAM: Adimulapu Suresh, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has said that the state, which is top in ease of doing business, has improved its functioning by removing bottlenecks in the realty sector.

He spoke at the inauguration of New India Summit – 2022 being organised by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) on Friday. Delegates from across the country had come together at the summit to discuss the developmental challenges of tier two, three and four cities. He said that the state government is committed to providing affordable housing for all. An estimated 30 lakh houses will be constructed under the program. The government is considering developing smart cities in all the 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh, while focusing on tier two, three and four towns. The minister also mentioned that Vizag is being developed as a financial, industrial and administrative center.

According to Harsh Vardhan Patodia, National President, CREDAI, since the COVID-19 pandemic, geography isn’t as relevant as before. In the current scenario of flexible working style and growing work-from-home trend, developing non-metro centers will also help in decongesting large urban centers.
