AMARAVATI, Andhra Pradesh: In a move to operationalise the Prime Minister Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP) and to formulate a state master plan, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has formed an Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS) headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The Government of India has asked the state to formulate an institutional framework to operationalise the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, a flagship scheme of the central government for the development of infrastructure and enhancing the logistics capability of the country.

The EGoS will function as an 18-member body that will include a special invitee. They will formulate a state-level master plan that will comply with the NMP along with providing “actionable programme strategies” to the state government of Andhra Pradesh. This will align the policy of the state of Andhra Pradesh with the National Logistics Policy, aiming to drastically reduce the logistic cost with the help of micro-level plans. Later the plan formulated by EGoS will be forwarded to the union government for approval.

The state government also composed a Network Planning Group that will include the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Group. This Network Planning Group will formulate a department-specific action plan for the period 2022-25 for the overall development of the region.
