VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) stated in its report to National Green Tribunal (NGT) that no non-recyclable multi-layered plastic sachets, pouches, or packaging producers exist in the state.
Action will be taken against producers operating without registration from APPCB as per the provisions of Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016.
Urban local bodies received instructions to send non-recyclable plastic waste to the nearby cement plants. 41 ULBs were instructed to send combustible dry waste to the waste-to-energy plants that are within 100-kilometer radius. Around 19 ULBs have already tied up with cement plants and have used 920 MT of non-recyclable plastic waste to construct roads.
