VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh will do all in its might to ensure every impoverished person has a home and the smooth sailing of the Jagananna Smart Township Programme, stated Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday, January 11.

During a program held in the CM camp office in Tadepalli on Tuesday, CM Reddy launched the Jagananna Smart Townships for middle-income groups (MIGs) in the state by launching the scheme’s official website. In addition to the website for booking plots, CM Reddy also launched residential plots for middle-class families under Jagananna Smart Townships.

As per CM Reddy, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has already granted 31 lakh housing pattas to the underprivileged and has begun work on 15.6 lakh residences in phase one. All family members from Andhra Pradesh with an annual income of up to Rs 18 lakh are eligible to apply for one of three plot sizes: 150 square yards, 200 square yards, or 240 square yards, according to the CM. Regardless of caste, religion, area, or political affiliation, the entire distribution will be done in a transparent manner using a computerised lottery, according to the CM.

Plots were made available in the first phase at Dharmavaram in Anantapur, Mangalagiri in Guntur, Rayachoti in Kadapa, Kandukur in Prakasam, Eluru in West Godavari, and Kavali in Nellore districts. The initiative will be taken to the constituency level by establishing a presence at each constituency’s offices.
