NEW DELHI: As the lockdown 4.0 come to an end, Home Minister Amit Shah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 29 to deliberate over the next step that is lockdown 5. Before meeting PM , Shah spoke to all the chief ministers of state to discuss the current situation, strategy to deal with the pandemic and their views on extending the lockdown.
Officials have said that chief minister of many states have agreed upon extending the lockdown with considerable relaxation in economic activity.
Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa said, “I feel that the lockdown should be extended for 15 more days, however there should be some relaxations – restaurants should be allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity and social distancing. Many citizens have demanded to resume gym in the state.”
According to health ministry, the escalation in number of cases is a big worry for everyone in country, in last 24 hours country reported 7,467 new cases which is the highest single day rise in number of cases.
As per the officials the fifth phase of lockdown will see fresh guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs, the new guidelines will give states the power to take strict action as per their needs but they will have to follow the rules set by centre also.
