AHMEDABAD: With relaxations on lockdowns, Ahmedabad’s air quality has begun deteriorating. Ahmedabad’s Air Quality Index (AQI) showed the city’s air quality to be ‘poor’ for several consecutive days. Therefore, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to set up an Air Quality Management Cell (AQMC) to initiate an action plan for controlling air pollution in the city.
The AQMC has initiated its work of hiring an expert, which will help draft an action plan to control air pollution. “This cell will coordinate between state agencies regarding the working of the action plan,” a senior AMC official said.
