Last year, central government had provided more than Rs 200 cr to the AMC under SBM.
CAG officials are trying to get details from the civic body but their efforts till now has not yielded any result. They have requested a full report on the various projects expenditure that civic body initiated to make the city clean under SBM. However, the corporation did not allow the central body official to conduct the investigation on April 24.
Talking to media, Harshad Solanki, director of solid waste department (AMC) said, “The CAG does not have any law for audit and the AMC has its own auditor being a self-governing body. If I get permission from the higher authority, then, I am ready to allow the CAG to conduct an audit.”
