All you need to know about Lucknow’s 3-day Urban Conclave

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh is set to host the three-day ‘Urban Conclave on New Urban India: Transforming Urban Landscape’ which would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, October 5. The event, hosted by the Department of Urban Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, will be attended by urban development ministers and planners from across the country. 

During PM Modi’s visit to Lucknow, he would be laying the foundation stones of 75 urban projects worth Rs 4,737 crore. The event will feature the best urban development practices followed in the state such as One District One Product, One City One Operator scheme; the community-led solid waste management program in Saharanpur; and the fuel plant run by Prayagraj Municipal Corporation.

Through this event, the urban development officials intend on showcasing how Uttar Pradesh is managing its economy and development with the use of technology and smart innovations. The event would also feature technologies and systems such as integrated command and control centre (ICCC); variable message signboards, environmental sensors that provide data on air quality; real-time tracking and monitoring of city’s public transportation, ambulance, solid waste collection vehicles; red light violation detection; and automatic number plate recognition, etc.

The transport department would also be displaying their electric buses, which would be virtually flagged off by PM Modi. These electric buses are equipped with advanced intelligent transport system technology such as CCTV, air conditioning, and panic buttons, among other things.

The Lucknow Development Authority would also be presenting the houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. These houses were built using technologies like autoclaved aerated concrete blocks instead of red bricks. PM Modi would be digitally handing over the keys to over 75,000 beneficiaries across 75 districts of the state.
