NEW DELHI: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), the renewable section of the Adani Group, has received a nod to being a member of the GRI South Asia Charter on sustainability imperatives. AGEL flagged off this pursuit responding to a call from GRI by becoming an endorser to the GRI South Asia charter in April 2021.
Asserting its commitment, the company has now provided with a clearly identified declaration in correspondence to UN Sustainable Development Goals, with an aim of making an impact in the upcoming years. “AGEL is dedicated to enhance its sustainability performance and in turn, building the credibility as an effective corporate citizen. This will be done by strengthening internal data and reporting management systems,” stated Vineet S Jain, Managing Director, and CEO, AGEL.
AGEL has proclaimed a target of having operating renewable energy efficiency, leading to cost reduction and competitive tariffs. The GRI South Asia Charter on sustainability imperatives proves to be an exceptional creation. The charter serves to be an integral and significant stimulus to implement sustainability-oriented initiatives and will help timely realisation of SDGs.
