ABN launches luxury cruise ship on river Brahmaputra to promote tourism

GUWAHATI: Assam Bengal Navigation (ABN) launched a luxury cruise ship on Brahmaputra river to take tourist from Guwahati to Jorhat and other destinations through the river way. “Assam Bengal Navigation (ABN) has also planned to launch a dedicated yacht as floating hotel in Majuli which is the world’s largest river island.” said Ashish Phookan, Managing Director, ABN.

“Because of increasing demand, ABN will operate two cruise named as Charaidew 1 and Charaidew 2. The Charaidew 1 will be the floating hotel near Majuli and Charaidew 2 will be the cruise with 18 cabins and it is operating between Guwahati and Jorhat since January 20, 2019.” Ashish added.

It is to be mentioned that ABN has received National Tourism Award from Union Ministry of Tourism for the pioneering effort by launching MV Charaidew in 2003.
