SMC seeks Rs 10 crore assistance from Himachal Pradesh government for restoration work in Shimla

SHIMLA: Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC), in general house meeting, passed a resolution on August 31, 2018, seeking assistance of Rs 10 crore from Himachal Pradesh state government  for repairing roads, pathways, retaining walls and other infrastructure that was damaged by the recent rains in 34 wards of the city. For this purpose, the state government already passed Rs 6 crore.

The general  house meeting of 34-memberwas chaired by Shimla Mayor Kusum Sadret and attended by Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma, councilors municipal officials.

Mayor said that MC had finalized the budget estimates and the restoration process has started in all places. The restoration work process has started on 45 sites on roads that comes under MC. House passed the budget estimates for 42 works worth Rs 1.72 crore, 95 works worth Rs 7 crore, and 41 works worth Rs 1.82 crore.
