GURGAON, Haryana: Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Urban Local Bodies, Vikas Gupta, has directed all civic bodies in the state to prepare a sanitation plan.

The plan will include an assessment of the ward-wise population, resources, and manpower required for door-to-door waste collection and secondary waste management. The commissioner has also directed the municipalities to utilize the expertise of agencies involved in the e-waste management sector for disposing of e-waste. Gupta said, “The city should set up processing facilities as per their waste production. A city-specific sanitation plan should be prepared by all the municipalities. The successful models of sanitation can be replicated in other cities. The senior officials should monitor the work in the field and motivate the staff.”
