LUCKNOW: The Government of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, June 1, launched a centralised portal named ‘SAMBHAV’ to monitor the day-to-day delivery of services in urban areas of the state. Arvind Kumar Sharma, Minister of Urban Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, launched the portal and briefed the chiefs of civic and local bodies, who had joined the launch virtually.
Although, there are portals and dashboards present to monitor the functions of urban local bodies, a unified solution based on information, communications and technology was missing so far. The SAMBHAV portal will bring together monitoring of state level projects, policy matters, execution of programmes, public grievances, and departmental issues. Sharma said that the Ministry of Urban Development of the state will use the portal to conduct the review of the works done by the local bodies on a daily basis. He said that he would also go through the sections randomly to track the disposal of matters across the local bodies.
The portal will enable town areas, municipal councils, and municipal corporations to flag their internal problems before the Ministry and seek its support to coordinate with other government departments. In addition, the portal has an option for public to forward their complaints and grievances directly to the urban development minister and check the status of their complaint.
