GURUGRAM: Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday, January 31, directed the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to set up a control room at the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority’s (GMDA) integrated command and control centre (ICCC) so that the civic agency’s mechanised sweeping machines can be easily monitored.

According to officials, CM Khattar met with MCG officials at the PWD Guest House, where he suggested that the municipal corporation work in collaboration with the GMDA to ensure that the mechanised sweeping system is easily operated and monitored, and is used effectively. CM Khattar had already examined the MCG control room and the GMDA’s ICCC to ensure that they were in working order and that the sweeping machines were operating properly. The CM requested a full report from the MCG on the machines’ operation. During his meeting with senior GMDA officials, Khattar also requested that a facial recognition system be implemented at the ICCC in order to keep an eye on suspicious people and activities utilising the city’s CCTV cameras. According to Khattar, such a system is already operational in Karnal, which is also his hometown. He also advised that the city bus service’s activities be monitored from the control centre.
