HYDERABAD: The Pranavayu Urban Forest Park, which was built on a vast unused plot of land at Gajularamaram in Kukatpally, will open to the public on Tuesday, January 25. The park, which will be officially opened by KT Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Government of Telangana, offers recreational opportunities to citizens of all ages.
The park, which was created by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), provides a variety of entertainment for both children and adults. Apart from a large green cover and theme-based art work, the park has walking and cycling tracks, a yoga and other exercise facility, a children’s play area, two open classrooms, a picnic area, and a gazebo. According to GHMC officials, the park, which has been built at a cost of Rs 11.37 crore, has five kilometers of pathways and cycling tracks — 2.40 kilometres in Gajularamaram and 2.60 kilometres in Suraram. A fence has also been built around the forest clusters of Bowrampet, Suraram, and Gajularamaram by the civic body. The urban forest park will offer lung space with facilities for wide and varied sports, and a multi-purpose hall to gather around for functions and events.
