LUCKNOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation stones of over 75 urban projects during his visit to Lucknow on Tuesday, October 5. His visit pertains to the three-day ‘Urban Conclave on New Urban India: Transforming Urban Landscape’ which he would be inaugurating.
The number of projects chosen for the announcement is in line with the country’s celebration of 75th year of Indian independence, or the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Ashutosh Tandon, Minister of Urban Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, said in a public statement that the best practices in urban development will be showcased at the urban conclave. Urban development ministers and planners from across the country are expected at the event.
The area near the airport, VIP guest house, and the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan is being given a facelift as the civic bodies have been directed to conduct sanitary drives and to fill up the potholes before the PM’s arrival.
Apart from the 75 urban projects, PM Modi would also flag off 75 electricity-run buses meant for the smart cities of UP, along with a coffee table book that includes 75 successful projects of 10 smart cities.
