NEW DELHI: India-Australia Circular Economy Hackathon (I-ACE) is organised jointly by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Government of India and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia. It is organised to enable the start-ups and MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) of both the nations in fostering innovative solutions for the development of circular economy to improve the ecological health and resilience of the planet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the inauguration of the event via video conferencing on Friday, February 19, and said that there is a need to analyse the consumption patterns and the ways to reduce their ecological impacts. He added that circular economy can be an important step in tackling these challenges.
PM Modi said that recycling and reusing things, eliminating waste and improving resource efficiency should become a part of our lifestyle and the innovations showed in hackathon will inspire both the countries to lead the world in circular economy solutions. He added that such energetic and enthusiastic participation of youth in the hackathon is the symbol of healthy partnership between India and Australia.
