Tamil Nadu government augments ISS scheme in remote areas of Trichy

Tamil Nadu is working to augment an Integrated Sanitisation and Sanitation (ISS) scheme in remote parts of Trichy district.

CHENNAI: With the aim of enhancing that state’s performance in fighting COVID-19, the Government of Tamil Nadu is working to augment an Integrated Sanitisation and Sanitation (ISS) scheme in remote parts of Trichy district. 44 separate team, consisting of representatives from various departments like health, revenue, rural development, women welfare and the police, have been formed under various police station limits of the district to make the implementation of the scheme widespread, uniform and deep rooted.

In addition to supplying high quality sanitizing material and illustrated pamphlets dealing with prevention and treatment of COVID-19, each team has also facilities to demonstrate hygiene exercises for rural people.

The teams are visiting rural areas of the district that fall within the foot hills of the Western Ghats like Panapatti near Manaparai and various villages on the borders with nearby Ariyaloor, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai and Thanjavoor districts.
