SURAT: Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat laid the foundation stone for a desalination plant having a capacity of 100 million litres per day (MLD) at Dahej in Surat. While speaking at the ceremony, CM Rupani said that after the plant becomes operational in 2022, water problems of various industries based in Gujarat will be solved. He added that Gujarat has been an ideal place for industrial development and that the state government is committed to providing various infrastructural facilities to the investors. Talking about the desalination plant as a breakthrough, Rupani said that eight more such plants will be set up across the state to meet future industrial needs.
According to Rupani, the Bhadbhut Barrage project is a top priority of the state government, the tendering process for the same is expected to start from December 2019 while work may begin by 2020.
In order to speed up the process of resolving issues of industries in Gujarat, officials of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) will organize a Lok Darbar, CM said.
