ITANAGR: The Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) oraganised a one-day workshop on significance of waste segregation at source which saw active participation of different people from different organisations of the city and staff of the IMC, on September 25.
Addressing the gathering, Kamlung Mossang, Arunachal Pradesh Urban Development, Town Planning, Urban Local Bodies and Government Estates Minister, said that though people are aware of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (SBA) and the importance of clean and healthy surroundings, people are careless to take up responsibility to work on it.
Mossang further added, “It is not only the duty of the concerned department to create healthy surroundings in the State but also the responsibility of the people too.”
The minister promised that his department would make sure that the cleanest district, cleanest sector and any individual commitment towards the cleanliness be provided with a letter of appreciation.
Mossang also requested the participants to make the best use of the workshop.
Techi Kaso, local MLA, also stressed on people’s participation to keep the capital clean and healthy.
Kaso requested Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister pf the state to deliver a strict law to monitor the flow of plastic carry bags in every check post of the State. He also requested the vendors and the shopkeeper of the daily market to keep the market area clean.
