NEW DELHI: All the three municipal bodies together gets Rs 109 crore from the Government of Delhi to deal with dengue, chikungunya, and other vector-borne diseases during the ongoing monsoon season, said a statement by the Government of Delhi on Wednesday, July 17. Following the directions of Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, the funds were released.
The CM gave instructions to the South, North and East municipal bodies to take all the necessary steps to ensure proper utilization of funds and there should be no excuse in tackling these diseases.
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) received Rs 23.57 crore under the health head whereas, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) have been allocated Rs 57.15 crore and Rs 28.4 crore respectively.
Moreover, under the education head the Government of Delhi has released a total of around Rs 46.75 crore to the three corporations.
