GURUGRAM: Rao Narbir Singh, Haryana government’s forest minister, said that the state is looking forward to plant a city forest in Gurugram in the near future and the land for the same would be demarcated by August 15. The minister said in a meeting with RWA representatives interested in planting trees and participating in afforestation activities, “Greening of the city is the responsibility of every citizen and a major push would be given to make afforestation a collective exercise.”
Singh added that the forest department has targeted to plant one crore saplings across Haryana and that 2 lakh will be planted in Gurugram alone.
Students from class 6 to 12 will be tasked with the plantation of the tree and would take care of their respective saplings.
