NEW DELHI: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) rapped the governments of Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal and imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on each of them for inaction on continue damage to river Ganga.

It is to be noted that in Bihar there is no progress as not a single sewage infrastructure project has been completed. Whereas, in West Bengal only three projects out of 22 have been completed. The progress in Jharkhand is not up to the mark.
