NEW DELHI: Dust control measures were found insufficient during survey at construction sites of eight central agencies and agencies of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, including the National Highways Authority of India, the Delhi Jal Board and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Prashant Gargava, Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), also warned in a letter on Wednesday, December 9, that action like imposing environmental compensation fine or not allowing construction work, will be taken if rules are not followed.
The letter was received by the heads of all the eight agencies, that also included the Central Public Works Department, Delhi Public Works Department, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited.
