VIJAYAWADA: Mekapati Goutham Reddy, Minister of Industries, Government of Andhra Pradesh, said that five Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have assured to setup up Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in Andhra Pradesh. These five PSUs include India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). Besides this, BHEL is also planning for the construction of a solar power plant in the state, as soon as its board approves.
Mekapati said that Amitabh Kant, Chief Executive Officer, NITI Aayog, lauded the “Nadu-Nedu” initiative of the state government. Kant also ensured that during his visit to Vizag in October, he will visit a school and a Public Health Centre (PHC), constructed under the Nadu-Nedu scheme. Reddy said that the state government is working effectively towards skill development and is dedicated towards creating a quality work force. The construction of Skill Development Colleges will start from December, 2020, and will be completed in the span of 18 months.
