MANGALURU: Mangaluru Smart City Ltd. has proposed to construct 46 bus shelters under Smart Cities Mission. The construction of nine bus shelters has already begun by Mangaluru City Corporation.
The shelters would be of three types: Type A shelters would have an e-toilet. They would be 13.5 m long. Type B would not have e-toilet and they would be 11.5 m long. Type C also would have no e-toilet and their length would be 8.5 m.
Mohammed Nazir, Managing Director Mangaluru Smart city ltd. said that all the bus shelters will have an interactive display and real-time indicator for citizens’ convenience.
According to the officials, type A shelters would come up near Hotel Lalith International in Surathkal and in front of St. Agnes College. Type B shelters will be built in areas at Mannagudda Gurji Centre, KIADB Baikampady Industrial Area, Kavoor Junction, Panjimogaru-Vidyanagar Cross, Bharat Mall, and Mullakadu. The C type shelters will be built at Paldane.
